During this part the viewer only sees the lips of the readers and there is something very effective about this focusing away from the face and eyes, the reduction of expression and the body to the lips.
that?
which floating above?
did I miss something?
i’m glad if something made you happy…
I am all for this exoterism for one, with so much questioable and distracting
shit out there on blogs as it is and ourselves so primed as it were to have an open
conversation
Some of these experimenst involve a looping structure, where my own
live voice may enter the loop in immediate and improvisatory ways; others may establish an
attentional ground whereby, imminenetly, certain phenomena of voice may arrive, erupt, and be
beside that groundwork.
Conrad was amazing—these poems written after colors, days of Conrad living his
life by certain colors specifically: colored food, objects, tunes, etc….
So revealing that I think my poem is
totally inadequate—a failure; but where I fail you at least strike that phrasing and emotional
register that I would otherwise value and attempt.
Of course I consider the blog to be less a final destination for work, than an open notebook
for all to read and feedback about, and which provides for my process…
I have been thinking much about ways you are
addressing color after Antonioni. As a kind of Shabbat, separation or interruption; a “small
distance” (Oppen) or “single hurt color” (Stein). Very interested in this problem your latest
response presents, and will hopefully be able to see *Red Desert* again soon to consider better
context…
Wow man, this press looks pretty bad. Lot of names I’ve never heard of and poems I’d never like to
read seemingly… But thanks for thinking of me for contests. They seem a necessary evil at this
point in the ways we spoke of during our last luncheon.
